Heather Hohenwarter, Executive Director
Heather leverages her experience to lead and grow the Elizabethtown Area Chamber of Commerce, backed by expertise in marketing communications, public relations and branding. During her short tenure, Heather has reintroduced the Chamber to the area business community with a new brand, new digital presence and a new location in the heart of Elizabethtown.
She has concentrated on increasing the member benefits and value, leading to growth in membership and enhanced strategic partnerships. Heather also focused on operational excellence resulting in a balanced budget and renewed optimism for future plans. Prior to her role as Executive Director of the EACC, she served as the chief marketing officer for Merit Marketing (formerly Sacunas), a Harrisburg-based global marketing firm specializing in brand development and marketing strategy.
A graduate of the University of Florida, with a BA in English/Writing Heather began her career as a publicist in New York City – working on national product launches, event management and media exposure for clients such as The Creative Coalition, Keds, Molton Brown, Rimmel London and Aldo shoes.
Other endeavors have included event management and marketing consulting for companies in Boston, Atlanta, and Central Pennsylvania, including the Dauphin County Bar Association, Beyond Tutoring LLC, Bigley and Blikle Law Firm and Prizm Medical, to name a few. Additionally, she co-founded For-More, a non-profit organization that provided clean water systems for Rwandan orphanages and the Ruby-Myles fund, which granted funds to families seeking to adopt internationally. Heather is also the founder of Be Storied, a life-story writing company.
“Most importantly , I am the mother of 4 sons, which is my best and biggest job. That’s one of the reasons, among many, that I am passionate about the future and progress of Elizabethtown and the surrounding area, where my husband was raised and where my children will be raised. I’m absolutely thrilled to be serving my adopted hometown as Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce.”
