Heather Hohenwarter, executive director of the Elizabethtown Area Chamber of Commerce, had a different perspective. Her preference is to have a thriving retailer in the Kmart space on South Market Street rather than a struggling store with an uncertain future. That could be a revitalized Kmart or a different retailer, she said, as long as the merchant’s offerings complement what others provide, preserving the retail community’s “nice balance,” and the merchant contributes to the “synergy” among existing retailers.” >READ MORE
